Roscommon racecourse hosts both Flat and jumps racing between May and September, with its feature race being the Grade 3 Kilbegnet Novice Chase held in September. The main Flat race is the listed Lenebane Stakes held at Roscommon’s July Meeting. Roscommon is a fairly tight-turning track, but is essentially a fair course, though it does favour the handier type, especially on the jumps course. Some high-class two-year-olds have made their debut at the venue, including Again, trained by David Wachman, who went on to win the Irish 1000 Guineas the following year.
