made most of good opportunity, down in grade, though was not entirely convincing in doing so and remains with questions to answer back at a higher level; close up, travelled well, disputed lead 4f out, shaken up to lead after 2f out, briefly hesitant before kept on final 100 yds, well on top finish.

was well held on first outing since leaving Pascal Bary for 24,000 gns after 10 months off, gelded since last seen; led, not settle fully, ridden over 3f out, headed after 2f out, weakened; capable of smart form for previous yard and no surprise if he finds that level before long for his new one.

Shifting Power didn't have to run to his best to gain a first win since last year's Free Handicap, taking advantage of a drop in grade, though he might have been pushed harder had the runner-up been ridden differently, trying to quicken from behind the favourite hardly ideal.

SHIFTING POWER made most of good opportunity, down in grade, though was not entirely convincing in doing so and remains with questions to answer back at a higher level; close up, travelled well, disputed lead 4f out, shaken up to lead after 2f out, briefly hesitant before kept on final 100 yds, well on top finish.
