ran a typical race and is certainly a tricky customer but at least he's holding it together in terms of form at the minute, going one better than on his previous 2 starts; prominent, pushed along ninth, lost place soon after (effectively dropped himself out in back straight), headway under pressure home turn, mistake 2 out, stayed on to lead run-in.

returned to form from out of blue and is certainly well handicapped at the minute, more than capable of taking advantage if he can hold it together; held up, travelled fluently, close up from 4 out, responded well to go down narrowly in tight finish.

after 8 weeks off, bounced back to form and has essentially had a good first season over fences for all he's got only the 1 win to his credit and has gone up the weights; handy, led after fourth, headed eleventh, led again home turn, headed run-in, kept on well; he's the sort his yard will place to further advantage next season, still only 6 after all.

easy to back, failed to meet expectations given how well he'd run on previous outing and it's certainly fair to say he's hard to win with, still with just a maiden success to his credit; led early, tracked pace, every chance from home turn, not quicken from 2 out, beaten run-in.

possibly found race coming too soon just 8 days after a slog through the Chepstow mud, though it's also possible these less testing conditions weren't in his favour, especially back up the weights; in touch, driven home turn, labouring soon after.

was well backed but ran an odd race in change of headgear, essentially producing a dislikeable performance; soon led, went in snatches, headed after fourth, led again eleventh, folded tamely home turn; he wasn't the only one from the yard to run badly on the card.

Probably solid form as opposed to strong, most having no secrets from the handicapper, but there's no reason to doubt the result on the day.

EVERAARD (USA) ran a typical race and is certainly a tricky customer but at least he's holding it together in terms of form at the minute, going one better than on his previous 2 starts; prominent, pushed along ninth, lost place soon after (effectively dropped himself out in back straight), headway under pressure home turn, mistake 2 out, stayed on to lead run-in.

THE MAGIC BISHOP returned to form from out of blue and is certainly well handicapped at the minute, more than capable of taking advantage if he can hold it together; held up, travelled fluently, close up from 4 out, responded well to go down narrowly in tight finish.

GOODTOKNOW after 8 weeks off, bounced back to form and has essentially had a good first season over fences for all he's got only the 1 win to his credit and has gone up the weights; handy, led after fourth, headed eleventh, led again home turn, headed run-in, kept on well; he's the sort his yard will place to further advantage next season, still only 6 after all.

BALLYPATRICK (IRE) easy to back, failed to meet expectations given how well he'd run on previous outing and it's certainly fair to say he's hard to win with, still with just a maiden success to his credit; led early, tracked pace, every chance from home turn, not quicken from 2 out, beaten run-in.

MASTER NEO (FR) possibly found race coming too soon just 8 days after a slog through the Chepstow mud, though it's also possible these less testing conditions weren't in his favour, especially back up the weights; in touch, driven home turn, labouring soon after.

BALINROAB (IRE) continues to underachieve; patiently ridden, crept closer seventh, shaken up approaching 4 out, found less than looked likely, eased off.

NODFORM RICHARD after 4 months off, fell second.

ROYAL SAM (IRE) was well backed but ran an odd race in change of headgear, essentially producing a dislikeable performance; soon led, went in snatches, headed after fourth, led again eleventh, folded tamely home turn; he wasn't the only one from the yard to run badly on the card.

YOU KNOW YOURSELF (IRE) seems to have lost way for time being; mid-field, behind sixth, beaten before home turn.
