A couple of disappointments, one due to a slipped saddle, though it was a pair of last-time-out winners who duelled down the home straight, Philba just shading things to notch up a hat-trick of course wins, the front 2 wide apart as they hit the line.

PHILBA whose previous form had been franked earlier on the card, is improving in leaps and bounds, defying a further 7 lb rise as he completed the hat-trick up in grade (now 3-4 on fibresand/since tongue strap has been fitted), set to remain of interest for the foreseeable future; disputed lead, went on 3f out, driven out.
