There have been very mixed results in terms of the subsequent exploits of winners of this Group 3 in recent years, 2012 winner Havana Gold having gone on to Group 1 success, whilst the last 2 winners haven't won a race of any description since; this looks one of the better renewals, however, with the impeccably-bred Elarqam justifying strong market support to comfortably see off recent Doncaster listed winner Tip Two Win.

ELARQAM has made a highly promising start, unbeaten in 2, up significantly in grade 18 days on from his debut but taking it in his stride and going about it in similar style to how he'd won at York, taking time to assert but showing a powerful stride when in full flow; raced centre, never far away, took keen hold, led over 2f out, tackled over 1f out, briefly looked vulnerable but stayed on strongly last ½f and was well on top at the finish; he'll be suited by at least 1m and is sure to go on improving, very much the type to train on well and make a better 3-y-o, and a Guineas trial will no doubt be on the cards next spring, likely to be put away for the winter now to give him chance to really mature physically and mentally.

TIP TWO WIN ran creditably again, more or less backing up the improvement from Doncaster, and he already seems to be a tough, consistent sort; held up, travelled fluently, progress over 2f out, took second inside final 1f, kept on, no match for winner.

TANGLED (IRE) went into the stalls last this time, barely having time to play up, and wasted no time getting back to form, a good effort to be placed on his first run in pattern company; raced stand side, held up, smooth progress from halfway, close up over 2f out, not quicken inside final 1f; he stays 7f well enough but does have the speed to drop back to 6f.

FAJJAJ (IRE) ran well upped in grade, improving as expected from Ascot, and should find this aiding his development; mid-division, effort over 3f out, edged left over 1f out, one paced, not knocked about; remains open to improvement.

FORTUNE'S PEARL (IRE) faced a stiff task in this grade but improved again, continuing his pattern of gradual progress; pressed leader, edged ahead halfway, headed over 2f out, kept plugging away but was left behind inside final 1f; he's likely to stay 1m.

ALBISHR (IRE) disappointed after 5 weeks off; led until halfway, weakened over 2f out; form of Salisbury run has been upheld elsewhere though, so worth another chance.

MORLOCK (IRE) is a fluent moving colt and, switched to turf, wasn't in the same form as for winning debut; held up, effort halfway, weakened over 2f out, made no impression; he remains open to improvement.

MYBOYHENRY (IRE) was out of his depth; chased leaders, struggling halfway, weakened.

STATUARIO was flying too high in this grade after winning a weak race at Chepstow, never on terms; he still might do better with his sights lowered.
