back on all-weather, posted a career-best effort to gain second victory of the year; held up, shaken up 3f out, good headway soon after, stayed on to lead final 1f, held on gamely; slightly fortunate to beat the runner-up and will probably prove vulnerable once reassessed, though.

in first-time hood after 7 weeks off, quickly put blip at Ascot behind him and would probably have won this had things panned out better; mid-field, travelled well, switched over 2f out, kept on well from 2f out, never nearer; made effort on other side of track to winner, not getting such a good tow into the race as that one, and very much one to be interested in with further progress likely.

hit and miss for this yard so far, but ran well after 6 weeks off, as with Haydock run suggesting he's on a handy enough mark when things drop right; mid-field, progress around 2f out, stuck to task, not ideally placed in race that developed more towards the far side for a long way.

All 14 ran.

Winning Owner: Mr P. J. Scargill & Partner

Time: 1m 24.59s Closing Sectional: (2f): 25.35s (94.5%)

Overrounds: Industry SP 120%, Betfair SP 100.6%

A useful and well-run handicap which rates as solid form, and a race that should throw up its share of winners in the coming weeks; the winner enjoyed an ideal tow into the race on the far side, and a few further back make more short-term appeal, notably Hold Tight and Lord of The Land, who weren't ideally placed on the near side, and Certificate, who travelled best for a long way before lack of a recent outing told.

MR BOSSY BOOTS (IRE) back on all-weather, posted a career-best effort to gain second victory of the year; held up, shaken up 3f out, good headway soon after, stayed on to lead final 1f, held on gamely; slightly fortunate to beat the runner-up and will probably prove vulnerable once reassessed, though.

HOLD TIGHT in first-time hood after 7 weeks off, quickly put blip at Ascot behind him and would probably have won this had things panned out better; mid-field, travelled well, switched over 2f out, kept on well from 2f out, never nearer; made effort on other side of track to winner, not getting such a good tow into the race as that one, and very much one to be interested in with further progress likely.

WILDE INSPIRATION (IRE) down in trip and having just his second start on all-weather, wasn't in the same form as last time; mid-division, ridden 3f out, one paced.

FREE CODE (IRE) had been shaping up quite well but this was a lacklustre display, possibly coming too soon after just 5 days off; slowly into stride, in rear, never a threat.

ENLACE again showed little and looks to have completely lost the plot; in rear, looked awkward, never a threat.

LORD OF THE ROCK (IRE) ran no sort of race after 6 weeks off; led after 1f, headed 3f out, stopped quickly; presumably isn't the easiest to keep sound given record and now has something to prove.

CAN'T CHANGE IT (IRE) shaped as if amiss; awkward leaving stalls, held up, no room around 2f out, not quicken, eased off.

LOVE ISLAND was well held; mid-division, faded from 3f out.

TOOCOOLFORSCHOOL (IRE) making handicap debut, fared no better than on reappearance in first-time tongue strap after 10 weeks off; prominent, weakened from 3f out; no longer worth a rating.
