A handicap that developed into a sprint from 3f out after a steady gallop, the first 2 home better than the bare result suggests, both having to wait for gaps before mounting a challenge.

TREASURY NOTES (IRE) confirmed the positive impression created by his last C&D success at the second attempt, and did so in spite of how things developed, the steady gallop just serving to mask his superiority; held up, travelled well, had to wait for gap from 2f out until final 100 yds, quickened sharply for hand riding once in the clear to score with a bit in hand; still on the upgrade and will be high on the shortlist next time as well, the rise for this narrow win likely to underestimate him.

LAT HAWILL (IRE) back on turf/back up in trip, cemented the positive impression created on debut for this yard, unlucky to bump into another well-treated sort and value for a more convincing defeat of the remainder than the margins suggest, like the winner catching the eye with how he went through the race then forced to wait for a gap until the final 1f, keeping on well once in the clear, his slow start just a side issue; one to be interested in.

GET KNOTTED (IRE) ran at least as well as when taking lesser race off lower mark at Thirsk, though with no excuses, again showing a better attitude than has been the case and better placed than most in a tactical affair; close up, travelled fluently, led around 2f out, headed final 1f, no further impression.

WILDE INSPIRATION (IRE) in first-time hood after 5 weeks off, ran up to best; mid-division, took keen hold, loomed up 2f out, effort over 1f out, not quicken; runs more good races than bad but upshot of that is handicapper is proving slow to relent, well over a year since last success but still 4 lb higher in the weights.

GLENALMOND (IRE) hails from an in-form yard but this represents just a small improvement upon recent efforts, and that was with the benefit of a positive ride in a tactical affair, clearly no longer capable of the decidedly useful form he showed early in his 3-y-o days; made running, driven 3f out, headed around 2f out, no extra final 1f.

TAYSH (USA) followed a respectable effort with a below-par one, not going with much fluency; held up, struggling over 3f out, never a threat.

BRAZOS (IRE) strong in the betting on first outing since leaving Clive Brittain after 9 months off, but failed to meet expectations; in rear, short of room 2f out, weakened final 1f; may prove best at around 7f and worth anther chance, handily weighted on his best form after all.
