The field turned into the home straight tightly bunched but the winner and runner-up pulled well clear by the finish, both worth viewing positively, Spanish Fleet also shaping with some promise on his chasing debut.

SPECIAL CATCH (IRE) progressed further and beat another improver to get off the mark over fences at the third attempt, suited by the return to 2½m and again shaping as though he'd stay further still; tracked pace, headway under pressure from 4 out, edged ahead between last 2, asserted run-in, stayed on; there's even more improvement/winning in him.

CENTRAL FLAME improved again, already proving himself a better chaser than hurdler after just 4 starts; led, headed usual eighth, mistake next, lost place there, good headway to recover home turn, led again before 4 out, headed again before last, kept on but held run-in; he's likely to face a small rise in the weights given the distance back to the third but he should go well again.

TIKKANDEMICKEY (IRE) again ran below form, though he might have needed the run after 8 weeks off; close up, led usual eighth, ridden before 4 out, no extra from 2 out.

PRESENT FLIGHT (IRE) has been in and out this season and he turned in one of his lesser efforts; soon steadied, crept closer home turn, ridden after 4 out, not quicken, soon done with; both of his wins have been over further and he should prove suited by a return to 23f+.

SPANISH FLEET showed aptitude for chasing in first-time cheekpieces and is open to improvement for all he ended up finishing well beaten; prominent, travelled well, ridden home turn, weakened.

LORD WISHES (IRE) turned in a lacklustre display as his run of good form came to a halt; in touch, raced lazily/needed early reminders, mistake sixth, tailed off back straight.
