A listed race featuring a number of fillies who came up short in trials for the Oaks; the pace was good, though they still finished quite tightly grouped casting a doubt over the quality of the form, the runner-up likely to have prevailed with a clear passage.

EASTERN BELLE confirmed the improvement shown in a similar race at Goodwood last month to get off the mark, proving herself equally as effective on this sounder surface; prominent, challenged 3f out, led over 1f out, kept going well; appeared a shade fortunate to beat the runner-up on the day, but displayed a willing attitude having chased the pace throughout and should continue to give a good account at this sort of level.

PELERIN (IRE) appeared well worth a try at this longer trip and duly showed improved form, unlucky not to win, though her finishing effort was perhaps slightly flattering given those in front were coming to the end of their tether; in rear, travelled smoothly, going well when not clear run 2f out, switched 1f out, finished strongly, nearest at the finish.

QUEEN OF ICE wasted no time getting back on track, sticking to her task well having gone hard enough in front; soon led, went with enthusiasm, joined 3f out, headed over 1f out, kept on; free-going sort.

MUTATIS MUTANDIS (IRE) ran her best race, having every chance but finding a few too strong; waited with, took strong hold, headway 2f out, challenged 1f out, kept on; will remain vulnerable if kept to this grade.

GROOVEJET faced a stiff task and ran as well as could be expected; prominent, effort over 2f out, not quicken; needs her sights lowered.

UCHENNA (IRE) quickly returned to form, soft ground seemingly the reason for her disappointing effort last time, though needs to improve if she is to make a significant impact in this company; mid-division, ridden over 3f out, one paced.

JORDAN PRINCESS again ran below the form she showed when runner-up to subsequent Oaks winner Taghrooda in the Pretty Polly, the return to this quicker ground failing to work the oracle; held up, shaken up 3f out, made no impression; something to prove at present.

BELLE DE LAWERS failed to meet expectations upped in trip, though this run may prove best excused in the grand scheme of things; in rear, not settle fully, bumped 4f out, ridden soon after, made no impression and not persevered with once held; worth another chance.

LATENIGHTREQUEST had something to find at the weights, but ran poorly regardless in first-time cheekpieces; in touch, weakened 1f out.
