York 14:20 Odds Comparison

Made it third time lucky in 7-runner novice at Ffos Las (1½m, good) last August. Took a step forward switched to a handicap a month later when ¾-length second of 6 to Sing Us A Song at Haydock (1¾m, good) and looks the type to do even better as a 4-y-o. Leading claims on return.

Consistent handicapper who ran well in competitive company last autumn, most notably when 4 lengths fourth in the Ebor here and when fifth in November Handicap at Doncaster. Picked up where he left off when second of 6 at Ripon (1½m, good) recently and fancied to be in the shake up again.

Got back on track after a gelding operation when winning at Haydock (1¾m) on final 3-y-o start, the step up in trip suiting him well. Given a considerate reappearance when third of 5 in handicap at Epsom (1½m, good) just over a fortnight ago and could well make his presence felt.

Progressive sort last season who took his form to another level when a wide-margin winner of the Old Newton Cup at Haydock in July. Disappointed in listed company at Kempton on return just over 5 weeks ago but can bounce back returned to a more suitable trip (third in this last year).

Better than ever in first-time cheekpieces when winning 12-runner handicap at Meydan (1½m, good) a couple of months ago, very much having the run of the race but showing a good turn of foot to settle matters. May well continue that good work having his first start on these shores.

Developed into a useful stayer last year (successful over 2m at Ascot) and shaped as if better for the run on return over an inadequate trip when fourth of 8 at Pontefract (1¼m, good) last month. Back up to 1½m but probably wants further still.

Took his form up a level last season, winning 3 of his 6 starts. Coped fine with the still longer trip when fifth of 15 at Haydock (1¾m, good to firm) when last seen in September and worth noting he made a successful reappearance at Chester this time last year.

Useful sort who bagged a 1½m Goodwood handicap in August. Tailed off next start but shaped as if better for the run on first outing since leaving Ralph Beckett (sold 30,000 gns) after 7 months off when down the field at Ripon (1½m, good) recently. First-time cheekpieces applied.

Without a win since November 2024 but he's proving consistent in defeat, worse placed than the first 3 and sticking to the task when fourth of 14 at Lingfield (1¼m) just under 6 weeks ago (finished lame). The step back up to 1½m rates a plus and this former C&D winner may well sneak a place.

Has enjoyed a highly productive all-weather season but last 4 starts suggest he's possibly gone off the boil. Others more appealing returned to turf.

Useful form in France last year, winning twice. Subsequently changed hands for €100,000 and is seemingly still finding his feet for this yard based on both outings this spring. Handicapper drops him another 3 lb.
