Shaped well on the back of a breathing operation in a race that didn't pan out well for him when fourth of 7 at Kempton (11f) in March. However, ran poorly back on turf at Windsor 11 weeks later.

Resumed winning ways at Leicester (1½m) in April. Ran a solid race in defeat at Newmarket (1¼m) 2 starts later but ran badly in the face of a stiff task at Goodwood last time.

Ended a long losing run in reapplied blinkers in 6-runner event at Wolverhampton (1¾m) in April, deserving credit given the runner-up was much better suited by how the race unfolded. Found life tougher in a more competitive race from a 3 lb higher mark at Kempton since, however.

Course winner who was always last of the 4 after missing the kick at Bath on most recent outing. Comes with obvious risks attached.
