proved better than ever, building significantly on what he did at Newmarket and looking a strong contender for top honours in this division this year, doing all that was required; handy, travelled well, headway 2f out, led well inside final 1f, won readily: has a good chance of being much more competitive against Twilight Son than last year were they to meet again at Royal Ascot, and will give a good account in the Diamond Jubilee.

made a solid start to the campaign after 7 months off, not far off the form he showed when third in the Champions Sprint at Ascot in October, though he didn't make things easy for his rider; switched towards stand side start, pressed leader, every chance over 1f out, hung left, kept on; he's not in the Diamond Jubilee, the prospect of boiling over perhaps too great, but holds a July Cup entry, a race in which he was a respectable fifth last year.

ran creditably after 7 months off, looking to retain all his ability; chased leaders, faded inside final 1f; he's not entered at Royal Ascot (even though he is a course winner) and looks to be being aimed at the July Cup, in which he was third last year.

with a penalty for his Group 1 win, shaped as if he'd be sharper for the run after 7 months off, ridden more patiently than usual and never a threat to the more prominently ridden principals; held up, effort 2f out, kept on, never dangerous; likely to be much more competitive against the winner at Ascot, with this under his belt.

back down in trip and under less testing conditions, didn't have things go his way, but there wasn't a lot of encouragement to think he's going to get back to the level he reached at 2 yrs; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, shaken up 2f out, kept on, made no impression.

A good quality renewal of this Group 2 sprint, with at least a couple of these serious players at the highest level this year, the winner looking to have made significant strides this term, even if there is a slight doubt about the value of the form, the third, fourth and fifth all having their first outing of the year, the fifth, in particular, sure to be much sharper for the outing.

MAGICAL MEMORY (IRE) proved better than ever, building significantly on what he did at Newmarket and looking a strong contender for top honours in this division this year, doing all that was required; handy, travelled well, headway 2f out, led well inside final 1f, won readily: has a good chance of being much more competitive against Twilight Son than last year were they to meet again at Royal Ascot, and will give a good account in the Diamond Jubilee.
