might be getting on but is still as good as ever, showing all of his speed and ability to quite readily see off some other smart sprinters under optimum conditions, this sharp 5f on fast ground absolutely ideal; broke well, made all, went with zest, ridden over 1f out, stayed on; the Kings Stand is the plan and he'll head there in much better form than he when contesting that race in the previous couple of years.

had plenty in his favour, the track and ground spot on, and bounced back to his best with reappearance under his belt; chased leader, shaken up 2f out, kept on, no match for winner; it's not out of the question that he finds some improvement with a clear run at things this season, only 4 and with lots of raw speed.

progressed well last season and did more than enough to suggest that he's returned from 10 months off as good as ever, unlucky not to finish closer; tracked pace, travelled well, hampered 2f out, chased leaders entering final 1f, kept on.

did the same as he had at York, missing the break, never travelling well and making no impression; he has something to prove at present.

A good renewal of this listed event and it was a very smart front-running performance from Take Cover, who went off fast but never looked like being reeled in, those coming from the back struggling to land a blow, as can sometimes be the case at this track.

TAKE COVER might be getting on but is still as good as ever, showing all of his speed and ability to quite readily see off some other smart sprinters under optimum conditions, this sharp 5f on fast ground absolutely ideal; broke well, made all, went with zest, ridden over 1f out, stayed on; the Kings Stand is the plan and he'll head there in much better form than he when contesting that race in the previous couple of years.

COTAI GLORY had plenty in his favour, the track and ground spot on, and bounced back to his best with reappearance under his belt; chased leader, shaken up 2f out, kept on, no match for winner; it's not out of the question that he finds some improvement with a clear run at things this season, only 4 and with lots of raw speed.

DOUBLE UP progressed well last season and did more than enough to suggest that he's returned from 10 months off as good as ever, unlucky not to finish closer; tracked pace, travelled well, hampered 2f out, chased leaders entering final 1f, kept on.

LINE OF REASON (IRE) took a step back in the right direction, hinting with how he finished off that a full revival isn't far away; mid-division, effort 2f out, stayed on, not ideally placed (further back than the principals).

KINGSGATE NATIVE (IRE) wasn't seen to best effect, shaping as if in reasonable heart; in rear, headway 2f out, ran on from further back than ideal.

CANNY KOOL ran respectably but simply wasn't up to the task; pressed leader, ridden 2f out, weakened inside final 1f.

OUT DO needed the run after 10 months off, looking and shaping that way; held up, headway halfway, weakened final 1f, not knocked about.

ENCORE D'OR was found out in better company but it's possible he's better on all-weather (by Exceed And Excel and is 3 from 3 on tapeta/polytrack); chased leaders, driven halfway, edged left, weakened.

MOONRAKER did the same as he had at York, missing the break, never travelling well and making no impression; he has something to prove at present.
