rarely runs a bad race on all-weather and resumed winning ways, seen to maximum effect the way this unfolded but really digging deep under pressure and up for the fight, no surprise if he's involved again in the finish of the Marathon final come Good Friday; prominent, travelled well, led 3f out, dug deep under pressure, well positioned.

ran well on British debut after 7 weeks off, looming up inside the final 1f but not quite the strength to get past the game winner; mid-field, headway 4f out, challenged 1f out, kept on; unexposed as a stayer and should remain competitive.

wasn't at his best making all-weather debut after 12 weeks off, showing his temperamental side having been ridden further back than is often the case, this display probably a combination of the longer trip and simply having to work hard to get into contention, not seeming willing to do that; held up, headway over 3f out, hung badly left 1f out, no extra.

All 11 ran.

A smart contest in which those towards the head of the market all got involved to some extent but the pace was ordinary and the winner was well positioned whereas the quirky favourite had to come from a long way back and didn't have the stomach for it.

WATERSMEET rarely runs a bad race on all-weather and resumed winning ways, seen to maximum effect the way this unfolded but really digging deep under pressure and up for the fight, no surprise if he's involved again in the finish of the Marathon final come Good Friday; prominent, travelled well, led 3f out, dug deep under pressure, well positioned.

ST MARY'S had work cut out on these terms but shaped as if still in good form with an eye towards a return to handicaps; held up, not clear run over 3f out, late headway, poorly placed.

FIRST MOHICAN never threatened back on all-weather after 3 months off; held up, made little impression.
