A competitive handicap on paper but it's a race that needs treating with suspicion as the winner appeared to show much improved form to rout his opposition, but the fact he was the only one to race against the near rail may well have been behind this showing.

STAKE ACCLAIM (IRE) without the headgear this time, showed much improved form to resume winning ways but such a wide margin of victory has to be treated with some suspicion given he was the only one to race against the near side rail; soon led, went with zest, went clear 3f out, kept on well, had plenty in hand; remains to be seen if able to back this up.

UPSTAGING claimer ridden, ran creditably, showing the benefit of reappearance run despite not looking entirely at ease on softer conditions; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, kept on.

ICE AGE (IRE) ran respectably up with the pace but it was clear from an early stage that he wasn't able to match strides with the winner against the rail; close up, ridden over 1f out, one paced.

JORDAN SPORT did well on all-weather during the winter and probably needed this run after 4 months off; raced wide, prominent, weakened final 1f.

CHARLES MOLSON wasn't in the same form as last time back down in trip, but had work cut out having been trapped wide from his high draw; mid-field, ridden 2f out, one paced.

DOUGAN wasn't disgraced back on turf after 8 weeks off, not seen to best effect; held up, headway out wide 2f out, effort flattened out, left poorly placed.

UDONTDODOU was strong in the betting after shaping better than the result last time but couldn't meet expectations, though he's not one to write off judged on some of his previous form; mid-field, headway 3f out, weakened final 1f.

SUMMER CHORUS looked rusty and could never land a blow back in hood after 8 months off; always behind.

ELJADDAAF (IRE) ran poorly; always behind.

LITTLE PALAVER claimer ridden, wasn't in anything like the same form as last time; prominent, weakened 3f out.
