was trying something different, sprinting for the first time since 2-y-o days, and it worked, comfortable with the pace at this trip and bouncing back to his best to take advantage of a falling mark; held up, had to wait for gap briefly before making headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead final 50 yds; he could progress kept to this trip, especially when there's a bit more cut in the ground (handles soft ground well).

ran well on first outing since bought cheaply out of David O'Meara's yard; led 1f, remained prominent, driven halfway, stayed on to lead again well inside final 1f, headed final 50 yds.

was fitter for recent run and bounced back to form; close up, travelled well, went on over 1f out, headed well inside final 1f, no extra; he's won over this trip but is possibly at his very best at 5f.

is becoming well handicapped and looks on the way back, unlucky not to finish closer here, all of his momentum stopped at a crucial stage; tracked pace, keeping on and looked set to challenge when badly hampered approaching final 1f, one paced after; this qualifies him for the final of this series in a couple of weeks and he's one to bear in mind.

clearly still has something to offer, better signs the last twice, with a visor refitted here; chased leaders, pushed along 2f out, dropped away inside final 1f, not unduly punished; the handicapper's giving him a chance and he'll benefit from a return to 7f.

was strong in the betting but again ran below form, disappointing since Nottingham romp in the mud, but softer ground is almost certainly key to him; mid-division, driven 2f out, not quicken and dropped away inside final 1f; he's still an entire and gelding him at some point could have a positive effect.

As 0-95 sprints go this probably isn't the strongest but it was won by one that's unexposed as a sprinter and there's the odd potentially well handicapped one further back in the field that's worth keeping an eye on, most notably Musical Comedy, who would have gone close with a clear run.

GORING (GER) was trying something different, sprinting for the first time since 2-y-o days, and it worked, comfortable with the pace at this trip and bouncing back to his best to take advantage of a falling mark; held up, had to wait for gap briefly before making headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead final 50 yds; he could progress kept to this trip, especially when there's a bit more cut in the ground (handles soft ground well).

FREE ZONE ran well on first outing since bought cheaply out of David O'Meara's yard; led 1f, remained prominent, driven halfway, stayed on to lead again well inside final 1f, headed final 50 yds.

STAKE ACCLAIM (IRE) was fitter for recent run and bounced back to form; close up, travelled well, went on over 1f out, headed well inside final 1f, no extra; he's won over this trip but is possibly at his very best at 5f.
