A messy listed race with the pace on the steady side and several taking a keen hold in the early stages, and the form isn't particularly reliable in behind, though there's no denying that the best filly on the day came to the fore, Fireglow overcoming a wide position to assert quite comfortably, several in behind remaining capable of better another day.

FIREGLOW stood out on form, albeit one of only 2 (runner-up the other one) to have run out of maiden company, having hit the frame in the Albany at Royal Ascot and resumed winning ways, as expected proving suited by the longer trip and not having everything go her way in the early stages; raced wide, mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, led over 1f out, edged right, kept going well; likely to step back up in grade now and is open to further improvement.

DESSERTOFLIFE (IRE) had seemed to find the company too hot in the Chesham, but made a much better fist of it in this lesser listed race, showed improved form to earn some valuable black type, her greater experience an advantage over some of her more lightly-raced rivals; slowly into stride, held up, not settle fully, pushed along over 2f out, headway on inner over 1f out, ran on.

RAAQY (IRE) whose debut form has proven strong, where she'd beaten the runner-up for one, but she could run to just a similar level here, despite having the run of things more than most; dictated, headed 2f out, one paced; still early days and pedigree suggests she could yet do better, but no doubt this is a knock to her potential.

FLYING EMPRESS ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade, her lack of experience seeming something of an undoing in this company for all she'd known her job on debut; mid-field, raced freely, effort over 2f out, ran green under stronger pressure, kept on, just failed to grab third; remains with potential.

ALINSTANTE was in at the deep end on the back of a maiden win, and she ran to a similar level as at Chelmsford, the steady pace negating the longer trip to some extent which wouldn't have suited considering she'll be suited 1m+ even this year; mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, one paced; remains with potential.

CHIRINGUITA (USA) had created a good impression on debut and was well backed to build on it, but clearly wasn't seen to best effect; held up, took strong hold, stumbled after 2f as things got tight with no pace on, was pushed along over 2f out, hung right 1f out, kept on, finished with running left; well worth another chance to show she can make an impact at this sort of level.

ANEESAH was well held, possibly finding this company too hot, certainly at this stage of her career; chased leader, not settle fully, effort 2f out, found little; she'd looked promising in 2 runs prior to this, and is well worth another chance, not least from what looks a very nice mark for nurseries.
