back up in trip, showed the benefit of a recent run to get off the mark for the season; chased leaders, jumped soundly, loomed up entering straight, upsides from 2 out, edged ahead on line; may find life tougher next time.

after 8 months off, looked as good as ever as he added to his plethora of near misses, the lack of a recent run probably his undoing on this occasion; made running, jumped fine, headed briefly early final circuit, driven entering straight, joined 2 out, edged out dying strides.

successful on 3 of his 4 starts upon joining the yard last season, shaped as if better for the run after 6 months off; mid-division, ridden approaching 3 out, kept on without troubling the principals, not unduly punished; likely to be much closer to form next time.

shaped better than the distance beaten suggests after 6 months off; prominent, went with enthusiasm, jumped on ninth, headed next, every chance 2 out, effort flattened out.

more miss than hit last season, albeit faced with some pretty stiff tasks, was below form after 6 months off; held up, off the bridle before most, left behind from 3 out; long-distance handicaps are where his future lies.

seems best in small fields and was in the process of running creditably - despite a typically sketchy round of jumping - when crashing out; dropped out, typically not fluent, headway under pressure when fell heavily 3 out; was virtually upsides Jett and, given how some of the others finished, would surely have been placed.

An up-to-the-mark renewal of this Grade 3 chase and it produced a thrilling finish, a modest gallop meaning they were still well bunched on the approach to 3 out.
