had his ideal set up, back at 5f in a well-run race, and it saw him produce a career-best performance; in touch, travelled well (more settled), switched over 1f out, quickened to lead inside final 1f and ran on, clearly suited by the drop in trip; he'll be worth his place in some of the valuable 5f handicaps, whilst listed races could be considered too.

after just 5 days off, ran well under a penalty, at least matching his Beverley effort; pressed leader, led over 1f out, headed inside final 1f, one paced; there's a chance his revised mark will actually be lower than he was racing off here.

back down in trip, shaped encouragingly and has come back in good form; chased leaders, ridden 2f out, kept on well and only just failed to get up for second; a return to 6f will suit and he's one to keep an eye on.

ran what is a typical race nowadays; held up, typically travelled well, headway over 2f out, edged left inside final 1f, not run on; he retains plenty of ability but temperament is perhaps creeping in.

Despite the small field there's plenty of reasons to be positive about this form, not least the fact that it was a well-run affair in which they broke the 5f course record, a smart effort from Judicial to readily quicken away from a last-time-out winner in second.

JUDICIAL (IRE) had his ideal set up, back at 5f in a well-run race, and it saw him produce a career-best performance; in touch, travelled well (more settled), switched over 1f out, quickened to lead inside final 1f and ran on, clearly suited by the drop in trip; he'll be worth his place in some of the valuable 5f handicaps, whilst listed races could be considered too.

EDWARD LEWIS after just 5 days off, ran well under a penalty, at least matching his Beverley effort; pressed leader, led over 1f out, headed inside final 1f, one paced; there's a chance his revised mark will actually be lower than he was racing off here.

NORTHGATE LAD (IRE) back down in trip, shaped encouragingly and has come back in good form; chased leaders, ridden 2f out, kept on well and only just failed to get up for second; a return to 6f will suit and he's one to keep an eye on.
