came out on top after 7 months off, deserving credit for that given many from the yard need their reappearance, producing his best effort for some time; prominent, tanked along, led 2f out, challenged well inside final 1f, found extra; remains to be seen if able to back this up given inconsistent profile last season.

has slipped in the weights and turned in best effort of season, going as close as he has for a while; mid-field, had to wait for gap under 2f out, switched over 1f out, kept on well well inside final 1f, just failed; not sure to build on this given profile.

may have achieved more in terms of a rating, and did pass a few late on, but it was still a laboured effort and he seems to be in a lull for now; held up, went in snatches, made little impression, not ideally placed.

is lightly raced for age and shaped as if retaining plenty of ability after 10 months off, better than could show having raced freely and met a bit of trouble; close up, not settle fully, no room 2f out, faded.

failed to confirm previous form with the headgear back on, has the ability to win off this mark but problems with the stalls becoming marked, and his attitude probably not all it could be nowadays; reared leaving stalls, mid-field, headway 3f out, folded from 2f out; has suspect attitude.

A useful handicap run at a sound pace, plenty to recommend the first 3 from a handicapping point of view going into the race, even if their profiles suggest they may struggle to go on from this.

KING TORUS (IRE) came out on top after 7 months off, deserving credit for that given many from the yard need their reappearance, producing his best effort for some time; prominent, tanked along, led 2f out, challenged well inside final 1f, found extra; remains to be seen if able to back this up given inconsistent profile last season.
