well backed, his form last time having worked out very well, has made the most of his experience in his second season over hurdles, arguably unfortunate not to have won all 3 starts, needing to be really tough to prevail in a gruelling slog but probably not having to improve significantly; prominent, not always fluent, pushed along after seventh, ridden early in straight, took second 3 out, closing when hung right after 2 out, led soon after last, driven out; he will stay 3m and is reportedly being aimed at the Spa, more needed to make an impact in that.

clearly relishes testing ground and found loads of improvement up markedly in class, under an attacking ride, clearly a thorough stayer too, all but getting back up on the line; close up, led after third, clear after seventh, 6 lengths up and ridden after 3 out, reduced advantage next, headed soon after last, rallied well final 100 yds, just failed; will be suited by 3m.

back down in trip, failed to confirm previous form, this perhaps coming too soon, just 2 weeks on; prominent, pushed along seventh, chased leader approaching straight, labouring before 2 out; not the easiest to weigh up.

on softer ground than previously, faced a stiffer task in this grade and wasn't up to it at this early stage of his career; waited with, ridden after seventh, weakened straight; may yet do better.

had plenty to find on hurdles form up in grade, but it may well be that the ground was more of a problem, this much the softest he's raced on; held up, not always fluent, labouring fifth, tied up after 2 out.

upped markedly in trip, just wasn't in the same form as last time, having been taken on for the lead; led until after third, remained prominent, pushed along after seventh, weakened home turn, pulled up 3 out.

The first 2 finished well clear, the runner-up setting too searching a gallop for all bar the winner, that horse of well-established merit which suggests this form is a little below the usual standard for the Challow, hard to see the principals making a significant impact at this level in the spring.

POETIC RHYTHM (IRE) well backed, his form last time having worked out very well, has made the most of his experience in his second season over hurdles, arguably unfortunate not to have won all 3 starts, needing to be really tough to prevail in a gruelling slog but probably not having to improve significantly; prominent, not always fluent, pushed along after seventh, ridden early in straight, took second 3 out, closing when hung right after 2 out, led soon after last, driven out; he will stay 3m and is reportedly being aimed at the Spa, more needed to make an impact in that.
