was gambled on and produced a career best back at a track that clearly suits, this his second C&D win of the season, and although he had the run of the race he did win with something to spare; made all, travelled well, tackled tenth, asserted between 4 out and 3 out, won readily; circumstances are unlikely to be so favourable next time and handicapper will have a say, too.

ran creditably, confirming return to form after blip at Warwick in January, and shaped as if he'd have benefited from a stronger gallop; chased leaders, outpaced end of back straight, stayed on.

shaped better than distance beaten suggests, an error at a crucial stage knocking him back, but it extends a long losing run and he's generally opposable; held up, yet to be asked for effort when bad mistake 5 out, struggling before next, never on terms.

was in process of running below form when departing, although would have been better than the distance beaten, and it was a very soft incident that saw Jack Sherwood come out the side door; held up, bad mistake fifth, good progress after 5 out, chased leaders briefly, beaten when rider lost balance and was unseated soon after 2 out.

Not many of these looked well treated coming into the race and it was a rather muddling affair as well, the winner enterprisingly ridden from the front.

RIO MILAN (IRE) was gambled on and produced a career best back at a track that clearly suits, this his second C&D win of the season, and although he had the run of the race he did win with something to spare; made all, travelled well, tackled tenth, asserted between 4 out and 3 out, won readily; circumstances are unlikely to be so favourable next time and handicapper will have a say, too.
