back down in grade/trip after 6 weeks off, got back on the up tackling his elders for the first time in handicap company, adding a fourth win to a most productive campaign, and as with the earlier successes it was achieved with relative ease; mid-field, headway on bridle under 2f out, produced to lead over 1f out, forged clear; smart now and still fairly low mileage, he'll be worth his place back in listed company when next seen.

was in calmer waters after 5 weeks off and got back on track, unlucky to bump into a progressive 3-y-o but well on top of the remainder; mid-division, loomed up over 2f out, led under 2f out, headed soon after, carried head bit awkwardly, left behind by winner final 1f.

probably remains in form, managing a place in a contest that didn't suit his style as well as York; pressed leader, went on over 2f out, headed under 2f out, not quicken, did too much too soon.

ran to a similar level to last time, again shaping up fairly well without hitting the heights he reached in the spring; waited with, travelled fluently, going well when denied a run 2f out, shaken up soon after, kept on.

What looked quite a tight-knit affair on paper proved one sided in the event, Escalator taking his form to a new level and looking a notch above these useful rivals; the gallop was sound.
