wasn't seen to best effect at Pontefract last time and wasted no time resuming the progressive thread, getting away with the shorter trip but firmly leaving the impression that his future lies over further, doing well in that regard; raced off the pace, headway 2f out, chased leaders approaching final 1f, stayed on to lead last ½f, responded well and scored readily in the end; will benefit from return to 1¼m and is very much the sort to go on improving as a 4-y-o.

was well backed and wasted no time getting back to form away from firm ground, running right up to the level shown in success at Newmarket, losing nothing in defeat to a progressive 3-y-o; mid-field, went with enthusiasm, headway 2f out, every chance approaching final 1f, kept on.

continues in good heart, having every chance here but he deserves credit for his consistency, has held his form virtually throughout the year; chased leader, went with zest, led 2f out, tackled approaching final 1f, headed inside last ½f, no extra.

easy to back, wasn't disgraced without being in the same form as for his last couple of starts, back to looking less-than-straightforward; raced off the pace, ridden over 2f out, took time to get going and carried head awkwardly, kept on but never a threat.

Overrounds: Industry SP 114%, Betfair SP 98.2%

A useful handicap and the form amongst the principals looks solid, something to recommend those that made the frame but they succumbed to an unexposed 3-y-o, El Vip seeing the race out well and scoring in the style of one that has more to come.

EL VIP (IRE) wasn't seen to best effect at Pontefract last time and wasted no time resuming the progressive thread, getting away with the shorter trip but firmly leaving the impression that his future lies over further, doing well in that regard; raced off the pace, headway 2f out, chased leaders approaching final 1f, stayed on to lead last ½f, responded well and scored readily in the end; will benefit from return to 1¼m and is very much the sort to go on improving as a 4-y-o.

GOD WILLING was well backed and wasted no time getting back to form away from firm ground, running right up to the level shown in success at Newmarket, losing nothing in defeat to a progressive 3-y-o; mid-field, went with enthusiasm, headway 2f out, every chance approaching final 1f, kept on.

FATHER BERTIE continues in good heart, having every chance here but he deserves credit for his consistency, has held his form virtually throughout the year; chased leader, went with zest, led 2f out, tackled approaching final 1f, headed inside last ½f, no extra.

KNIGHT OWL wasted no time getting back to form, though had every chance and his mark is probably about right now; tracked pace, close up 2f out, no extra inside final 100 yds.

HIGHLAND COLORI (IRE) easy to back, wasn't disgraced without being in the same form as for his last couple of starts, back to looking less-than-straightforward; raced off the pace, ridden over 2f out, took time to get going and carried head awkwardly, kept on but never a threat.

BEACH BAR (IRE) back in headgear, ran below form; led, headed 2f out, weakened approaching final 1f.

QUIXOTE (GER) again ran below form, albeit not to the same extent as last time; in rear, pushed along over 3f out, never a threat.

FOX TROTTER (IRE) wasn't in the same form as last time, producing a rather laboured effort; slowly into stride, off the bridle before most, never on terms.

FINN CLASS (IRE) followed a good run with a below-par one, back to looking less-than-keen, headgear presumably not working so well a second time; mid-division, ridden over 2f out, carried head high, weakened.

PINTURA clearly wasn't 100% on the day; raced wide, mid-field, weakened over 2f out, eased off.
