benefited from a no-nonsense ride kept to this C&D (will be suited by further than 2½m), improving a chunk to follow up in such good style; made running, jumped safely, forged clear in straight; should give a good account in hat-trick bid, but will have to prove effectiveness away from testing ground before much longer.
led, kept on well straight, in control from 3 out

did enough to show he wasn't flattered by his successful chasing debut last time, already better in this sphere than over hurdles; chased leader, raced wide, effort/every chance approaching 4 out, hit next and soon left behind, tired when making another mistake at the last; has form around 3m in the past but recent improved efforts strongly suggest he'll prove best at up to this trip.

produced a laboured effort; held up, hit seventh, struggling soon after; good runs outweigh the bad over fences so far, so percentage call is that he'll bounce back next time.

shaped as if retaining all his ability on first outing since leaving Robin Mathew after 28 months off, something forewarned by his position in the market; mid-field, untidy fifth, lost place briefly circuit out, struggling 4 out, booked for third when mistake and unseated at next; entitled to strip fitter for this and not one to dismiss out of hand.
