Smart Call stood out on form, but clearly was nowhere near her best, leaving the filly with the second-best form to run out a convincing winner without having to improve, little over 1 length covering the next 6 home, the pace not strong enough to sort the wheat from the chaff, a couple of outsiders in the mix for the places and rather holding the form down.

HUNAINA (IRE) made the most of a good opportunity, taking advantage of Smart Call being nowhere near her best, confirming herself clearly an improved performer this year, at least on synthetics, the listed win making her purchase for €140,000 last autumn look more of a bargain; waited with, travelled well, pushed along over 2f out, quickened to lead over 1f out, in command soon after, stayed on well; she is likely to switch back to turf next time, which will require her to confirm she's improved on that surface as well.

SHENANIGANS (IRE) progressive at 3 yrs, made a highly promising return after 6 months off, seeming likely to go on again this year; prominent, pushed along 3f out, not quicken early in straight, kept on well inside final 1f, took second close home, no match for winner; one to be interested in with this under her belt.

SOUL SILVER (IRE) seemed to excel herself, emerging the best of those that ran at Lingfield the previous week, despite again having to come from off the pace; held up, shaken up straight, headway over 1f out, stayed on.

LA FIGLIA (IRE) strong in the betting, confirmed herself a useful filly after 6 months off, kept to listed company, though clearly more was expected, given she has a Lockinge entry, despite the fact she's a maiden; prominent, effort 2f out, every chance over 1f out, one paced; she remains with quite a lot of potential, particularly with a return to turf and a step up in trip in mind.

LUCYMAI backed at long odds, was seen to good effect under an enterprising ride and ran her best race yet, albeit the form may be a little suspect; soon led, shaken up straight, edged left, headed over 1f out, one paced.

PEAK PRINCESS (IRE) seemed to run well after 5 months off, though with those behind the winner in a heap the form may not be the most solid; steadied at the start, in rear, effort straight, headway 1f out, kept on.

SMART CALL (SAF) down markedly in grade and on her all-weather debut, stood out on form, but clearly wasn't near her best after 4 months off, probably needing more of a test of stamina than this speed-favouring 1m; raced wide early, close up, ridden 3f out, every chance over 1f out, one paced; she'll presumably be back on turf and likely to give a much better indication of how she'll do this summer next time.

PACO'S ANGEL shaped as if needing the run after 9 months off, her best effort having come in a very different scenario anyway; in touch, ridden 2f out, not quicken, weakened final 1f.

CAROLINAE was given a very different ride from last time and that didn't help her at all, just unable to get involved from a poor position; in rear, shaken up over 2f out, made no impression.

SUMMER ICON was well held, as last time not seen to advantage the way the race developed; held up, not settle fully, ridden over 2f out, made no impression.
