proved better than ever to spring a minor shock back from 7 months off, evidently relishing the longer trip and suited by the way the race developed, likely to need a similar kind of test to reproduce this level of form; held up, went in snatches, driven 4 out, looked held briefly home turn, headway before 2 out, stayed on to lead flat, driven out.

ran creditably after 7 months off and for most of the race shaped like the best horse at the weights, outstayed late having made her effort earlier and more smoothly than the winner; in touch, travelled fluently, led before 2 out, driven approaching last, headed flat, no extra.

shaped better than the distance beaten suggests on first outing since leaving Harry Fry after 8 months off, going second best into the straight before falling in a hole, probably coming up short for both fitness and stamina, likely to fare a whole lot better next time; chased leader, upsides home turn, effort before 2 out, found little.

A sound pace on soft ground made this a gruelling test by Kempton standards and the winner - who was the first off the bridle - ground her way to the front late after the second, third and fifth looked to have the race between them when going on turning for home, the form therefore perhaps having a slight muddling element.

SURTEE DU BERLAIS (IRE) proved better than ever to spring a minor shock back from 7 months off, evidently relishing the longer trip and suited by the way the race developed, likely to need a similar kind of test to reproduce this level of form; held up, went in snatches, driven 4 out, looked held briefly home turn, headway before 2 out, stayed on to lead flat, driven out.

MORELLO ROYALE (IRE) who produced her standout effort when winning this race last year, wasn't disgraced after 8 months off without seriously threatening; held up, ridden soon after 4 out, made no impression.
