Only the front pair ran their race in this handicap, but their efforts are well worth viewing positively all the same, the winner in particular one to follow, overcoming a troubled passage and value for a fair bit more than the bare margin suggests; the gallop was on the steady side.

FLYING HAMMER is clearly on a sharp upward curve, the narrow margin of victory on handicap debut not a true reflection of his superiority, that he managed to overcome the way things unfolded at all evidence of his potential; handy, travelled well, had to wait for gap 2f out as runner-up quickened clear, finished with a flourish to peg back one who gave her all, the pair drawing right away; in excellent hands and very much one to keep on the right side.

CASCADING STARS (IRE) took form to a new level just when it was starting to look as if the handicapper had her measure, doing well to make the promising winner pull out all the stops, acknowledging she enjoyed a tactical advantage over that rival; prominent, travelled well, quickened to lead 2f out and soon clear, kept on well but nailed close home; will look the one to beat if taking up her engagement at Yarmouth on Sunday.

ALNASHAMA wasn't disgraced making AW debut, but has work to do from this sort of mark even if at the top of his game; close up, moved upsides 3f out, led narrowly over 2f out, headed soon after, no further impression.

EQUITANUS (IRE) fared no better than on debut for this yard in first-time hood after 3 months off; steadied at start, dropped out, effort over 2f out, never a threat; not ideally placed but now has something to prove.

ROCKAROUNDTHECLOCK (IRE) back in handicap company after a productive spell in French claimers earlier in the year, but was easy to back after 4 months off and ran no sort of race; waited with, struggling 3f out, soon beaten; entitled to be sharper with this under her belt.

MY MISTRESS (IRE) went without the visor this time after 3 months off but fared no better and looks to have completely lost the plot; made running, tackled 3f out, headed over 2f out, weakened.
