had optimum conditions, unbeaten on soft/heavy ground, and proved at least as good as ever for a first win at Group level, simply too good for this lot and winning with more in hand than the winning margin; waited with, travelled strongly, headway on bridle 3f out, led approaching final 1f, won readily; under similar conditions she can win at an even higher level this season.

was fitter for reappearance and got back on the up, no match only for a really classy filly and deserving credit for how comfortably she beat the rest; close up, led over 2f out, headed entering final 1f, stuck to task, no match for winner; she should be suited by 1¾m and is worth trying back up in trip.

ran creditably on softer ground than previously, in deeper than when winning last time, and although it made no difference to her finishing position she did have her momentum checked at a crucial point; prominent, took keen hold, going well when short of room approaching 2f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on.

Not the deepest renewal of this Group 3, especially with several running below form, but Bateel is a smart filly and justified favouritism with something to spare; the pace was fair and conditions also ensured that it was a good test.

BATEEL (IRE) had optimum conditions, unbeaten on soft/heavy ground, and proved at least as good as ever for a first win at Group level, simply too good for this lot and winning with more in hand than the winning margin; waited with, travelled strongly, headway on bridle 3f out, led approaching final 1f, won readily; under similar conditions she can win at an even higher level this season.

AJMAN PRINCESS (IRE) ran creditably on softer ground than previously, in deeper than when winning last time, and although it made no difference to her finishing position she did have her momentum checked at a crucial point; prominent, took keen hold, going well when short of room approaching 2f out, not quicken over 1f out, kept on.

LUCY THE PAINTER (IRE) was stretched by the 2f longer trip, shaping better than the distance beaten suggests, looking in good form; steadied at the start, headway under pressure out wide 3f out, chased leaders 2f out, effort flattened out; she's best up to 1¼m.

RETURN ACE looked a bit rusty after 7 months off; in touch, outpaced over 3f out, plodded on, never a threat.

MALEFICENT QUEEN again ran below form; chased leaders, driven 2f out, weakened.

ISLAND REMEDE was below form after 8 weeks off, too keen to find anything; soon led, took strong hold, headed approaching 2f out, dropped away quickly.

ZAIN ARION (IRE) was found out in better company; mid-division, outpaced 3f out, dropped away.

CHINOISERIES in first-time hood, faced a stiff task in this grade but ran no sort of race, anyway; slowly into stride, in rear, took strong hold, struggling 4f out, looked awkward, made no impression.
