somewhat surprisingly switched back hurdles considering how well he had taken to chasing, fully vindicated that decision to open his account in Graded company; chased leaders, led on bridle after 3 out, tackled between last 2, found plenty; reportedly remains on course for the RSA at the Cheltenham Festival, a race for which he was cut to as low as 7/2 in the ante-post market in the immediate aftermath of this performance.

is right back on track now, this a career-best effort in fact, no disgrace in losing out to a stronger stayer; waited with, went handy 3 out, challenged between last 2, jinked approaching last, kept on.

strong in the betting on her first try at 3m, turned in a rare poor effort, possibly more to this than simply lack of stamina, never jumping/travelling with her usual fluency and not persevered with once her chance had gone; in rear, not always fluent, awkward first, met some trouble after 4 out, headway approaching home turn, ridden 2 out, found less than looked likely.

An up-to-scratch renewal of this Grade 2 and it was won impressively by one who has been plying his trade over fences of late, Presenting Percy proving that he remains a force to be reckoned with over timber; the pace was fair but the emphasis was firmly on stamina.

PRESENTING PERCY somewhat surprisingly switched back hurdles considering how well he had taken to chasing, fully vindicated that decision to open his account in Graded company; chased leaders, led on bridle after 3 out, tackled between last 2, found plenty; reportedly remains on course for the RSA at the Cheltenham Festival, a race for which he was cut to as low as 7/2 in the ante-post market in the immediate aftermath of this performance.

AUGUSTA KATE is right back on track now, this a career-best effort in fact, no disgrace in losing out to a stronger stayer; waited with, went handy 3 out, challenged between last 2, jinked approaching last, kept on.

DIAMOND CAUCHOIS (FR) back up in trip, in first-time tongue strap, ran as well as could be expected upped in grade; held up, close up entering straight, one paced from 2 out.

ALPHA DES OBEAUX (FR) who won this race in 2016, ran respectably back over hurdles; tracked pace, led briefly 3 out, plugged on.
