has been a tough and pretty consistent filly through her career, begun early at 2 yrs, but has taken her form to a new level, winning races too, on her last 4 starts, adding a pattern success to her previous listed win, her tenacity the feature of her performance; tracked pace, shaken up over 2f out, looked third best early in final 1f, rallied gamely to lead final 100 yds, ridden out; she's ideally suited by 7f and firmish ground, which may limit options for the rest of the campaign.

ran better than he had in the Hungerford, without quite matching the level he appeared to show in lesser company at Pontefract, no real excuses on the day; held up, not settle fully, effort 2f out, every chance final 1f, kept on.

has had a busy summer and was placed at Group 3 level for the third time in 5 starts in the last 2 months, all 5 efforts of a very similar standard; disputed lead, hampered after 2f, chased leader after, produced to lead again over 1f out, headed final 100 yds, no extra close home.

was well backed to repeat his win in this race of 2015, but was below form, making much of the running on that occasion, but held up and never landing a blow this time; held up, effort 2f out, edged right, one paced.

shaped as if needing the run after 3 months off, this a more encouraging effort than either of his outings in the spring, suggesting he might be back to his best with this behind him; soon led, headed over 1f out, no extra inside final 1f.

An up-to-scratch renewal of this Group 3 contest, even with 3 withdrawals due to the ground, the winner better than ever in prevailing in a tight finish, the pace having been fair, not quite the crawl of several of the other races on the card.
