This looked an open running of the Nassau Stakes beforehand, featuring 3 Group 1 winning 3-y-os, as well as several other very promising sorts, but as it turned out only one of that group ran her race, the other Group 1 winners running well below form, and although Legatissimo was most impressive, the bare form is hard to rate up to standard for the race; the pace was a muddling one and trouble in running played its part.

LEGATISSIMO (IRE) made most of good opportunity, not needing to run to her best, with several of her rivals not at their game, though there was plenty to like in terms of style about her second Group 1 win; held up, travelled well, good headway over 2f out, led over 1f out, kept on well, won readily; will continue to take plenty of beating at this level, with the Matron Stakes and a possible clash with Amazing Maria potentially next up.

WEDDING VOW (IRE) has run well on her last 2 starts, despite rather than because of the drop back in trip, getting going here too late to trouble the winner, likely to be well suited by a return to further, though more will be required if she takes up her entries in either the Yorkshire Oaks or St Leger; held up, ridden 2f out, edged right, kept on well final 1f, no match for winner.

ARABIAN QUEEN (IRE) ran creditably over 1f longer trip, the way she finished giving hope that she'll stay further still, for all that she again raced freely; chased leader, not settle fully, pushed along 2f out, not quicken, rallied inside final 1f.

CLADOCERA (GER) ran creditably after 6 weeks off, looking suited by 1f longer trip, having a better run through than the pair immediately behind her; waited with, not settle fully, shaken up over 2f out, not quicken, edged right, kept on well inside final 1f.

JAZZI TOP had something to find on her Oaks form to be competitive and ran well after 8 weeks off, though shaping better than the bare result, suffering significant interference; held up, travelled well, headway 3f out, not clear run from 2f out, hampered 1f out, not recover; remains open to improvement and well up to winning a minor pattern event at least.

LADY OF DUBAI back down in trip, ran respectably after 8 weeks off, better than the bare result too, after finding trouble; handy, not clear run 2f out, kept on again final 1f; likely to be at least as effective back up in trip; may yet do better.

STAR OF SEVILLE disappointed after 6 weeks off, following her significant step forward last time, her finishing effort rather tame; led, pushed along over 2f out, headed over 1f out, weakened well inside final 1f.

BRIGHT APPROACH (IRE) lightly raced for age, after 14 months off, ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade, generally highly tried since her maiden win; dropped out, steady headway early in straight, hampered 2f out, no extra; clearly interesting she is still in training and may yet do better, though seems likely to be campaigned further at a high level.

DIAMONDSANDRUBIES (IRE) disappointed after 4 weeks off, closely matched with the winner on that form, more patiently ridden this time but surely more to it than that; in touch, pushed along over 3f out, not quicken, bumped over 1f out, no extra.
