proved at least as good as ever back on favoured ground to successfully concede weight all around and bag his second Group 3; pressed leader, travelled well, led 2f out, edged left final 1f, driven out; should remain competitive at this sort of level.

didn't have the chance the market suggested and ran well on form even though possibly inconvenienced by being unable to lead, an awkward start putting paid to those tactics; stumbled start, in touch, ridden when switched 2f out, switched again final 1f, kept on; she'll probably be better off back around 1m.

might've been placed but didn't really seem at the top of his game, never looking a win threat; took keen hold, ridden 3f out, headway over 1f out, one paced; a strongly-run 6f in the Wokingham brought out the best in him this season, maybe worth another go at that trip.

ran poorly, underhwelming even if a sharp 7f is no good to him nowadays; mid-division, in touch halfway, outpaced over 2f out, soon beaten.

This wasn't a strong race by Group 3 standards and the chances are the winner was the only one that showed smart form, others either disappointing or not good enough; the fourth set a pace that was no more than fair, few getting involved.

ANSGAR (IRE) proved at least as good as ever back on favoured ground to successfully concede weight all around and bag his second Group 3; pressed leader, travelled well, led 2f out, edged left final 1f, driven out; should remain competitive at this sort of level.

INDIGNANT was below form; made running, headed 2f out, weakened final 1f.
