The principals put daylight between themselves and the rest, and every reason to think that this was an up-to-scratch May Hill even if there were one or 2 disappointments, Rich Legacy seen to much better effect on a galloping track than in a steadily-run 7f contest at Goodwood; the pace took a couple of furlongs or so to pick up, but the headwind ensured that stamina was tested.

RICH LEGACY (IRE) was one of the those most inconvenienced by the run of the race in a messy Prestige, not that she'd let herself down there, but this was something else, a big step forward, relishing the stiffer test on this more conventional track; chased leader, left in front over 2f out, headed over 1f out, rallied, led again late on, found plenty; there's more to come from her, both in the short and long term, likely to prove suited by 1¼m/1½m next year.

GRECIAN LIGHT (IRE) hadn't settled in a messy Prestige, but this was much more like it, improving even upon even her placing in the Sweet Solera given the margin back to the third, seeing the trip out, but perhaps not relishing it in the same way as the winner after briefly taking over from that one; dwelt, mid-field, not settle fully, led over 1f out, headed late on.

URBAN FOX is holding her form well, in the frame again, like she has been in listed/pattern company on each outing since winning her first 2 races, just not on the same upward curve as the winner as she reversed placings from the Prestige; patiently ridden, smooth progress over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, kept on.

REACHFORTHESTARS (IRE) was turned out again quickly, up signficantly in grade having been beaten in a nursery off a BHA mark of 75 just last week and progressed again, this form not far off useful, but just missing out on black type and probably doing her handicap mark a fair bit of damage; held up, headway 3f out, chased leaders 2f out, kept on.

TIBURTINA (IRE) wasn't disgraced, no better or worse for the step up in trip, the company the main problem, this again providing evidence that she's not up to making any greater impact in pattern company; mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, one paced.

BLENDING had won a Newmarket maiden that has been working out well, the second and third both successful on their next start, but she couldn't make a step forward herself, though possible that a well-run 1m is a bit more of a test than is ideal for her at this stage; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out; career only 3 outings old and was sent off favourite, so too soon to be suggesting she won't do better at some stage.

HIDDEN STEPS backed at long odds, again offered something to work on having a lot more on her plate than when making a winning debut in a weakish Lingfield maiden, this extra experience in such company unlikely to be lost on her; held up, headway out wide over 2f out, effort flattened out; remains with potential.

BONGRACE (IRE) was stepping up out of nurseries and simply wasn't up to this better company; mid-field, raced freely early stages, weakened over 2f out.

KILMAH had beaten 4 of these in the Prestige at Goodwood, and is better judged on that and her other efforts in pattern company, beaten by more than lack of stamina over this 1f longer trip, restless in the stalls and shaping as if amiss; led until over 2f out, found nothing.
