didn't need to improve to get off the mark and had fortune on his side to boot, easy from this to see why it's taken time, by no means there yet, either (still below best hurdling form); jumped tentatively, led, headed third, led again soon after next, headed when left in front again 4 out, kept up to work; will be tested all the more under a penalty.

useful over hurdles, ran to a similar level sent chasing in first-time cheekpieces after 7 months off, looking an out-and-out stayer; handy, slow fifth, twelfth, ridden from 4 out, stayed on gradually but always held.

was lit up after 18 months off, given a considerate return from his lengthy break as a result; in touch, raced freely, switched approaching 4 out, hampered on landing there, left behind as absence seemed to tell, not knocked about; should last longer next time.

back up in trip, ended up faring little better than first time back; patiently ridden, progress approaching straight, soon done with after 5 out, well held when blundered 3 out.

(€10,500 4-y-o, £30,000 5-y-o: by Let The Lion Roar: first foal: dam ungenuine 2¾m hurdle winner) a lightly-raced winner in points, achieved nothing faced with a stiff task on chasing debut; prominent, jumped on third, headed soon after next, lost ground circuit out, tailed off before straight.

probably would have followed up but for departing (had stamina for longer trip to prove), though jumping was a recurring problem over hurdles and the early evidence of his chasing career suggests a similar theme; dropped out, not fluent, headway on bridle from early in straight, led - still going strongly - when fell heavily 4 out.

This didn't take the winning that was promised, primarily because of a race-changing incident 4 out that saw Wait For Me no sooner sweep to the front as hit the deck, hampering the reappering Rock On Oscar and leaving the front-running winner to maintain an advantage over the runner-up thereafter.
