confirmed previous promise, found a weakish race for the grade but running out an authoritative winner; close up, travelled well, mistake 4 out (jumped soundly otherwise), led before 2 out, in command last, ridden out; he's still low-mileage and seems sure to go well again.

ran well and looks on a fair mark, though there's still room for improvement in his jumping, a late blunder not helping his cause this time; held up, took closer order sixth, second when clouted 2 out, kept on.

back under a fully-fledged rider, wasn't disgraced in first-time blinkers after just 6 days off but hasn't won for ages and is usually one to be against nowadays; made running, mistake eleventh, pushed along 3 out, headed before next, mistake there, left behind approaching last.

strong in the betting, underperformed, not jumping well enough over these stiffer fences; mid-division, jumped none too fluently, ridden 3 out, left behind early in straight.

A fairly meagre turnout for this good prize and it wasn't especially competitive with most in the field doing something or other wrong, though the winner will remain one to be positive about; the third set no more than a fair gallop.
