Useful form from the principals in this 3-y-o sprint handicap and a winner to view favourably, the lightly-raced Rathaath more superior than the margin of victory would imply, nothing able to live with her when she quickened, the race won at that point, the placed pair closing late.

RATHAATH (IRE) had excuses on her return 7 weeks earlier and wasted no time getting back on track with a win and the promise of further progress; in touch, travelled smoothly, quickened to lead over 1f out, edged left final 1f, closed down last ½f, driven out; impressed with the turn of foot she displayed to hit the front, that a weapon that could prove more potent delivered at a later stage (or over a bare 5f), and she's one to keep on side, any rise in the weights likely to underestimate her superiority.

SNAP SHOTS (IRE) ran creditably, though didn't appear the most straightforward under pressure, the refitting of headgear (cheekpieces removed here after just 1 outing) an option connections may choose to explore; chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, veered right 1f out, ran on.

ACCIPITER had plenty of racing at 2, but improved under Richard Hughes, ridden more patiently than usual, this showing she can indeed be competitive from a mark in the 90s; in rear, headway over 1f out, stayed on.

ANONYMOUS JOHN (IRE) after just 3 days off, ran his typical honest race, faced with competition up front, but is simply vulnerable to less-exposed/better-treated rivals; disputed lead, carried right after 2f, ridden over 2f out, one paced.

SILVER RAINBOW (IRE) failed to build on the form of her win at Doncaster, this a classier affair, third-placed Accipter coming from a similar position, though given her profile it would be no surprise to see her get back on the up; dropped out, headway 1f out, kept on, never landed a blow.

AIR OF MYSTERY never threatened on handicap debut and has been handed a stiff-looking mark; waited with, ridden over 2f out, edged left and bumped over 1f out, never on terms.

COOL STRUTTER (IRE) continues to struggle; held up, pushed along over 2f out, never on terms.

UNION ROSE who had finished in front of both the second and third when runner-up at Newmarket last time, was easy to back and clearly wasn't 100% on the day; disputed lead, hung right after 2f, folded over 1f out, eased off with rider looking down.
