Punchestown 15:05 Odds Comparison

Back from 8 months off (had breathing operation) when winning 3-runner Doncaster handicap in December. Sizeable step forward when proving 8 lengths too strong for Almuhit at Wincanton (2½m, soft) but will need to overcome a 12 lb rise in order to complete the hat-trick. Cheekpieces applied.

Improved steadily to win a maiden hurdle at Roscommon in September. Followed that with a good C&D handicap second in November but progression came to a halt at Limerick last time and will need to get back on the up if he's to emerge on top in this competitive handicap.

Made it 2-2 in handicap hurdles at this course when scoring over 21f on penultimate start in January. Failed to land a blow back from a break in a valuable listed handicap at Fairyhouse (2m, soft) but he's much better than that and is a big player back here over a more suitable trip.

Fine second in this race off a 4 lb lower mark 12 months ago and campaign this season appears to have been fine-tuned around a repeat bid, chasing home Laughing John on latest start in this sphere at Wincanton in February. Strongly respected with Harry Cobden booked.

Successful sole start in Irish points and, having showed plenty of promise in 2 maiden hurdles, made it third time lucky in this sphere when landing a Wetherby handicap (21f, soft) on Boxing Day. Followed up over the same C&D next time and he's open to further improvement.

Off the mark over hurdles when landing a Fairyhouse maiden on return in November. Firmly back on track with a first-time tongue strap enlisted (retained here, with the addition of first-time blinkers replacing cheekpieces) when second in a big-field handicap at the same course earlier this month.

Clear promise in bumpers/maiden hurdles and positive start in handicaps when 3½ lengths third of 15 to Powerful here (21f, heavy) on latest start in January. No doubt that there are races to be won with this 5-y-o but will do well to reverse placings with Powerful.

Notched third win on the Flat earlier this month and was also successful on latest start in this sphere at Naas (19f, heavy) in January. Went up a hefty 11 lb for that but he did the job in good style and this 6-y-o may well have more to offer.

Shaped well when third on handicap debut at Downpatrick last month, finishing hot on the heels of the second, Accustomed, who renews rivalry. Perhaps he'll find this a shade too competitive but, judged on that Downpatrick effort, he should pick up a race before long.

Point winner who landed a Musselburgh maiden before bagging back-to-back handicaps at Haydock and Kelso earlier this year. Brought down before things got serious back at the latter course last time, so he remains one to be positive about but others may be better treated all the same.

Irish point winner who followed up on Rules/hurdles debut at Market Rasen in October. Has put in good shifts switched to handicaps the last twice, latterly finishing 2¾ lengths third of 16 to Daylatedollarshort at Wetherby. Still, he'll need to find improvement from somewhere in order to take this.

Fairly useful maiden hurdler who has finished runner-up on 5 of his last 6 starts, splitting a couple of decent types when second in 2m Clonmel maiden (heavy) last month. Stepping back up in trip won't be a problem and should make his presence felt once again.

Cracking start to this season, winning back-to-back Clonmel handicap chases and a C&D contest in this sphere on first 3 starts of the campaign. Creditable 6 lengths fifth to Onlymammycanloveme at Cork and entitled to finish closer to that rival on these revised terms, if he gets a run. RESERVE.

Winner on the Flat and opened account at the twentieth time of asking over jumps when landing a 6-runner Sedgefield maiden hurdle (2½m, good to soft) at the start of this month. More needed with a visor added back in handicap company. Yard also saddles Almuhit.

Progressive since returned to this sphere, following last month's good Gowran second with back-to-back handicap wins over 2½m/3m at Cork. Up 7 lb for latest success but may well continue on an upward trajectory and is respected in his hat-trick bid.

Showed plenty of ability in maiden hurdles prior to making a winning handicap debut at Down Royal (2½m, good to soft) where he was always handy and kept on well to prove ¾-length too strong for Accustomed. 6 lb rise fair enough and he's one for the shortlist.

Consistent mare who wasn't winning out of turn when landing a 13-runner handicap at Limerick during the Christmas period. Lost no caste in defeat when 1½ lengths second of 18 to Onlymammycanloveme at Cork (2½m, good to soft) and, now 11 lb better off with that rival, it should be close between them.

Best effort for a while when 3¾ lengths third of 16 to Onlymammycanloveme at Cork (3m, good to soft) earlier this month. Claims if able to build on that here, if indeed he makes the cut. RESERVE.

Fair winner on the Flat and while this 6-y-o has yet to get his head in front over hurdles, he has plenty of good form to his name in this sphere. However, improvement will be needed with cheekpieces applied (worn once on the level back in 2024) if he's to open his hurdles account in this contest.

Displayed promise amidst greenness first 2 starts over hurdles and while his handicap debut was rather low-key, he took a step forward when a good 7¾ lengths fourth of 16 to Daylatedollarshort at Wetherby last month. Should win a race before long but this demands significant improvement.

Solid form when runner-up at Leopardstown final start last term and has made the frame in handicaps won by Powerful and Onlymammycanloveme on 2 of his 3 starts so far this season. Not without each-way hope.

Turned in best effort of the season in first-time cheekpieces when third of 18 to Onlymammycanloveme at Cork last month. However, wasn't in the same form next time and, though 3 lb lower compared to when fifth of 25 in this last year, some of the others make more appeal.

Runner-up in an Irish point and continues to go the right way over hurdles, building on maiden/novice promise with solid efforts in handicap company at Kelso (2¾m) and Hexham (2½m) the last twice, both on heavy going. Remains open to improvement and claims if handling conditions here.

Almost vindicated punters' faith when second of 19 in first-time cheekpieces at Downpatrick last month. Completely misfired at Wexford next time, though, and needs the new headgear (sports blinkers for the first time) to help facilitate a return to form.

Useful handicap chaser who took a step back in the right direction over hurdles when third of 14 at Gowran in February. However, failed to build on that back chasing at Naas since and others make more appeal.

Enjoying a resurgence late in his career, bagging a couple of handicap chases at Limerick this season and creditable second on latest start in this sphere at Gowran in February. Cheekpieces applied back hurdling and couldn't rule out off an attractive mark.

Has slipped to a potentially handy mark but, on the downside, his latest success came at Cork back in November 2023. Well held in a handicap chase at Wexford last time and he's opposable.
