They went steady here and didn't get racing in earnest until the last 3f, resulting in a bunched finish that limits the view of the bare form, but it was still a couple of generally progressive 4-y-o's that came to the fore, with a well-handicapped one in third, and it should be a race that produces future winners.

BIG COUNTRY (IRE) was fourth in a race that has worked out notably well last time, behind subsequent Group 1 runner-up Frontiersman and recent Goodwood winner Top Tug, and he resumed winning ways himself, making it 3 from 4 for this yard, coping well with the drop back in trip even in a race that was rather muddling and value for more than the winning margin; tracked pace, travelled well, headway to lead under hands and heels entering final 1f, edged left and idled, ridden out but was always doing enough; he'll be aimed at some of the top-end middle distance handicaps now and, with the assessor unlikely to be put him up too much more, he should remain competitive.

BURGUILLOS resumed his progress back down in trip, almost defying a mark 8 lb higher than for his reappearance win, edged out only by another upwardly-mobile 4-y-o; mid-division, travelled well, headway 3f out, had to pick way through over 1f out, challenged inside final 1f, kept on but could never get by Big Country; he'll continue to run well.

DANCE KING is interesting from this sort of mark and threatening to come good soon, this his best effort of the season and also doing well under the circumstances; patiently ridden, travelled smoothly, headway when not clear run under 2f out, forced to switch, closed all the way to the line and fared best of those held up; he's one to keep an eye on.

INNOCENT TOUCH (IRE) continues in good heart, fairly consistent so far this year; chased leader, every chance over 1f out, not quicken, held when short of room well inside final 1f.

RAINBOW REBEL (IRE) ran respectably but had no excuses, better placed than most; prominent, raced freely, every chance 2f out, no extra last ½f; he's very small, for what it's worth.

MULLIGATAWNY (IRE) wasted no time getting back to form, doing especially well under the circumstances having been caught further back than ideal; held up, headway under pressure over 1f out, kept on.

MADROOS ran respectably in first-time tongue strap but wasn't helped by failing to settle early, especially back up 3f in trip; tracked pace, pulled hard, driven around 2f out, one paced; he's made a solid start for this yard and should be winning handicaps in the second half of the season, maybe back at around 1m in a more strongly-run race.

JUST HISS wasn't disgraced and it wasn't until the last summer with some cut in the ground that he thrived last season; raced wide, chased leaders, pushed along 3f out, dropped away final 1f.

STORM KING had the run of the race but was below form; dictated, shaken up approaching 2f out, headed entering final 1f, no extra.

EUCHEN GLEN wasn't seen to best effect, likely to have benefited from a stronger gallop and a bit isolated making his effort on the far flank; mid-field, headway under pressure over 2f out, effort flattened out.

STIPULATE extended a long losing run; slowly into stride, progress over 3f out, weakened over 1f out; he's becoming well treated but is quirky and hard to win with nowadays.

POWER GAME should strip fitter for the run on first outing since leaving Saeed Bin Suroor after 8 months off; held up, effort over 3f out, never on terms but wasn't knocked about.

MICA MIKA (IRE) was well held after 4 months off; in rear, labouring badly 3f out, soon beaten, possibly amiss.
