is better than ever at the minute and added a listed win to his big handicap success the time before, probably not needing to improve much more in an ordinary race for the level, making his straightforward temperament count in a race in which the runner-up did plenty wrong; made all, effort under 2f out, kept on well, driven out.

wasted what looked a good opportunity, all his fault, quickly facing an uphill struggle after blowing the start, the effort of getting into contention taking its toll; very slowly away, in rear, good headway 2f out, chased leader final 1f, no extra; he's got plenty of smart form to his name but isn't entirely straightforward and isn't one to take a short price about.

ran about as well as could have been expected, not good enough even in a substandard listed race, a handicap over 7f likely to represent a better opportunity for him; in touch, ridden over 2f out, one paced.

A substandard field for this listed prize and the outcome was decided as much by attitude as ability, the all-the-way winner very straightforward and the runner-up anything but.

NAMEITWHATYOULIKE is better than ever at the minute and added a listed win to his big handicap success the time before, probably not needing to improve much more in an ordinary race for the level, making his straightforward temperament count in a race in which the runner-up did plenty wrong; made all, effort under 2f out, kept on well, driven out.

SCRUTINEER (IRE) ran about as well as could have been expected, not good enough even in a substandard listed race, a handicap over 7f likely to represent a better opportunity for him; in touch, ridden over 2f out, one paced.

MARSH HAWK again ran below form; prominent, ridden over 2f out, not quicken.

GEORGE DRYDEN (IRE) closely matched with the winner on form from last time, didn't run anything like so well; held up, hung badly left from halfway, never landed a blow.

GOLDEN AMBER (IRE) ran poorly; in touch, struggling soon after halfway.

CLEAR SPRING (IRE) ran badly; prominent, lost place over 2f out, soon beaten.
