with his usual combination of a hood and tongue tie left off, continued the run of good form he'd been in for Stuart Williams by opening his account for new connections at the first time of asking after 5 weeks off; mid-field, ridden under 2f out, stayed on to lead inside final 100 yds; he can be temperamental, which shouldn't be forgotten.

proved easy to back but took a giant leap back in the right direction on first outing since leaving Hugo Palmer after 6 months off; led after 1f, driven early in straight, headed over 1f out, stuck to task; there's still someway to go before he's back at his very best (useful Group 3 winner as a 2-y-o), but this was encouraging and he has a much-reduced mark to take advantage of regardless.

Solid handicap form, those in the frame in good heart or, in the case of the third who shaped encouragingly, very well handicapped; incidentally both the winner and the third were making debuts for new yards.

UPAVON with his usual combination of a hood and tongue tie left off, continued the run of good form he'd been in for Stuart Williams by opening his account for new connections at the first time of asking after 5 weeks off; mid-field, ridden under 2f out, stayed on to lead inside final 100 yds; he can be temperamental, which shouldn't be forgotten.

ROSE BERRY back down in trip, wasted no time getting back to form; prominent, driven 2f out, edged ahead over 1f out, edged out inside final 100 yds.
