A borderline smart handicap that looks good form for the grade, the low mileage winner proving better than ever with something to recommend that trio that came a little way clear with him; the pace was on the modest side, probably playing against those that were held up.

COHESION confirmed promise of last run, proving better than ever as he opened his account for this yard; slowly into stride but soon recovered to be prominent, pushed along over 2f out, chased leader entering straight, stayed on to lead last ½f, ridden out; will be suited by 1¾m+ and, with that avenue still to explore, will remain of plenty of interest.

WINTERLUDE (IRE) continues in fine form, proving at least as good as ever and deserving of credit for coming from further back than the other principals; raced off the pace, headway over 3f out, chased leaders over 1f out, kept on, never nearer; will continue to give a good account.

FABRICATE was strong in the betting and ran well making all-weather debut after 5 months off, if anything shaping as though he needs the emphasis more on stamina; in touch, close up end of back straight, forced wide home turn, edged left final 1f, kept on; will be suited by a return to 1¾m+ and will remain of plenty of interest, still low mileage for his age.

MISTIROC again shaped well, just a bit too keen for his own good having been asked to sit in behind the leader this time, that impacting upon his finishing effort; close up, not settle fully, led over 2f out, kicked on entering straight, headed last ½f, no extra; all the positives from last time still stand, and is sure to be of interest again.

BARYE ran to just a similar level as last time, though probably not ideally placed the way this went; in rear, pushed along 3f out, kept on, never a threat.

HAINES wasn't in the same form as last time but is better judged on that run, needing the emphasis more on stamina with the drop back in trip playing against him; mid-division, outpaced 3f out, kept on, never landed a blow; well worth another chance.

JOHN REEL (FR) was below form; prominent, took keen hold, led back straight, headed over 2f out, weakened.

RED TORNADO (FR) struck into when running poorly over hurdles last time (had won previous 5), was well held after 5 months off returning to the Flat for the first time since the end of 2015; never on terms.

PLUTOCRACY (IRE) clearly wasn't 100% on the day; soon led, headed back straight, dropped away over 4f out.
