well found in the betting having shaped better than the bare result last time, but having had the run of the race on this occasion didn't need to improve over this longer trip to take his all-weather record to 4 wins from 6 starts; soon led, took keen hold, quickened around 2f out, tackled over 1f out, responded well; had only made the running once before so there's a slight suspicion that he won this in spite of tactics, rather than because, but will reportedly head for the Lincoln now, and while not without a chance, will find that a very different test to this one.

had crept up another 1 lb for his latest effort, but with a good-value claimer helping to offset that rise again ran well and clearly remains in top form at present, not seen to best effect on this occasion either, giving best only to one who had the run of things and then getting little room to operate late on; soon steadied, not settle fully early but made smooth headway from 2f out, forced to switch approaching 1f out and keeping on all the while when short of room inside final 1f, nearest at the finish; should go close again.

remains in good form after 7 weeks off and a 5 lb rise for his Chelmsford win, just not finding this panning out quite so favourably as that previous race; in touch, not settle fully, challenged over 1f out, one paced final 100 yds.

ran well on form having just his second run in a handicap following a 4-month break, though his mark had looked on the stiff side and given that this was a bit of a messy affair he'll need to prove he can back this up next time; mid-field, headway when forced to switch entering straight, challenged and every chance entering final 1f, not quicken final 100 yds.

wasn't disgraced but his mark is probably about right following a further rise for his most recent runner-up effort, the fact he was 1 lb out of the weights merely compounding the issue; raced off the pace, took strong hold, forced wide entering straight, not quicken.

failed to build on the promise of his last run, possibly unsuited by the tactical way in which this developed; mid-division, not quicken from 2f out, no extra last ½f.

A useful handicap, albeit not the most straightforward form to assess, over half of the field rather finishing on top of one another, with Bravo Zolo coming out on top having been responsible for setting just modest fractions, though the pair that followed him home arrived at the top of their game so a cautiously optimistic view looks the way to go for now.
