Some of the most interesting horses came to the fore here and it appeals as solid form at least, the winner unexposed and second starting out for a top yard, whilst Buck's Bond, who won this race last year, gives a bit of substance; it was well-run and a good test.

ZIGA BOY (FR) is still a young chaser, only 4 starts into career in Britain and progressing well now, confirming reappearance promise here (strong form), showing improved form and value for extra, the 2f longer trip seeming to suit; in touch, jumped well in main and travelled well, led 2 out, asserted flat, just pushed out; he's open to further improvement and will be of interest again.

SILVER COMMANDER ran well on first outing since leaving Victor Dartnall after 12 months off, at least as good as ever behind an unexposed improver, but he's yet to win a race and not for the first time failed to convince with his finishing effort; dropped out, travelled strongly, mistakes eleventh and 4 out, good progress before next, challenged 2 out but looked hesitant and was brushed aside by the winner after last; it is possible that this trip stretched him (may prove best at bare 3m) and, although not straightforward, he is on a fair mark and it wouldn't be a surprise if this yard did find the key to him at some stage this season.

BACK IN JUNE produced best effort to date in first-time cheekpieces, clearly all the better for recent run/chasing debut; prominent, jumped left at times, headed 5 out, remained prominent, not quicken after 2 out; he's eligible for much weaker handicaps than this.

BUCK'S BOND (FR) who won this race last year, again ran creditably and would probably have been third but for making a mess of the second last; mid-division, went prominent ninth, edged ahead 5 out, headed when bad mistake 2 out, no extra as that took its toll.

WATER WAGTAIL stepped up on comeback run, not seeing things out fully, but it's possible he's still building up his fitness; mid-division, tracked pace ninth, every chance 3 out, weakened.

LILY WAUGH (IRE) was upped markedly in trip and failed to stay; held up, pushed along before 4 out, weakened next, found the test too much.

MACKEYS FORGE (IRE) needs respite from the handicapper; raced off the pace, struggling 4 out, behind next, never a threat.

BOYFROMNOWHERE (IRE) ran badly with a tongue strap fitted for first time, temperament perhaps getting the better of him, and he has plenty to prove at present; chased leaders until ninth, turned it in.

GORING ONE (IRE) ran poorly after 9 months off; chased leaders, lost place after halfway, beaten when clouted 5 out, pulled up.

PAPRADON ran no sort of race; led, joined when bad mistake tenth, soon done with; he's more miss than hit and is easy to oppose.
