hadn't offered much when returning from a break last time but that had clearly blown the cobwebs away and he proved at least as good as ever to win from 7 lb higher than he'd managed previously; tracked pace, led approaching 2 out, tackled run-in, dug deep under pressure; will be vulnerable back off higher marks, though.

again ran well and, although probably no more than averagely treated now, is proving most consistent; led, headed approaching 2 out, stuck to task; likely to continue in form.

a hurdles winner in France for E. Clayeaux, shaped better than the distance beaten suggests on first outing for new connections after 6 months off (tongue tied), possibly needing the run and/or stretched by the trip; tracked pace, travelled smoothly, challenged 2 out, found less than looked likely; still unexposed and next run should reveal more.

ran poorly after 7 months off, failing to justify market support; raced off the pace, went with little fluency, beaten before 2 out; looked lazy on occasions last season and is worth a try in headgear.
