is a novice going the right way, not only better than ever but more consistent too, improving again to record second C&D win here; in touch, travelled well, mistake tenth, led 2 out, driven clear; his good runs this season have all come in smallish fields and mostly at this track, so whether he'll repeat it in more competitive races elsewhere as he climbs the weights remains to be seen.

hasn't really met expectations as yet this season but returned to form after 10 weeks off and might be a little sharper for the outing; in touch, outpaced tenth, kept on after 3 out, no impression on winner.

needs to find more if he's to defy a career-high mark but remains in good form and deserves extra credit over the bare form here; made running, took strong hold, headed 2 out, second when bad mistake last, one paced, likely to have finished close to Greywell Boy but for the blunder.

put up a pretty big performance when winning at Wetherby 3 weeks earlier and perhaps that was telling to some extent as he ran below form here, not seeing things out fully; chased leader, ridden 3 out, held next, faded.

easy to back, was well held after 3 months off, though didn't end up having a hard race; dropped out, jumped none too fluently, crept closer after ninth, beaten after 3 out, considerately handled; made a positive start to life over fences earlier in the season and is worth another chance, for all that it has to be acknowledged that the Plumpton races he won were hardly competitive.

All 6 ran. Fences: 16.

Winning Owner: Mr D. R. Peppiatt

Time: 5m 17.43s

Overrounds: Industry SP 112%, Betfair SP 99.1%

A couple of the leading protagonists failed to show their true colours, making this a weaker race, but the winner is an improver and a fairly positive view should be taken of his effort; Benny's Mist raced enthusiastically and ensured a fair gallop.
