shaped much better than the bare result just 7 days on from his Market Rasen success, travelling best but stopping as if amiss under more testing conditions, reportedly losing his action; in touch, travelled best, jumped well in main, upsides 3 out, effort entering straight, folded and pulled up before 2 out (dismounted but later found to be sound); worth another chance.

Not form to take at face value, the odds-on favourite travelling best only to capitulate, though the winner did at least confirm the improvement he showed last time.

CADEAU GEORGE confirmed previous improvement in first-time cheekpieces to come out on top; disputed lead, not fluent sixth, went on approaching 5 out, joined 3 out, headed entering straight, led again last, dug deep under pressure.

WAYWARD GLANCE ran creditably back over hurdles and seemed to show no ill effects for his crashing fall on his previous start; chased leaders, challenged 3 out, went on entering straight, headed last, no extra run-in.

HALUCHA (IRE) again ran poorly; disputed lead, folded approaching 4 out.

JOIN THE CLAN (IRE) shaped much better than the bare result just 7 days on from his Market Rasen success, travelling best but stopping as if amiss under more testing conditions, reportedly losing his action; in touch, travelled best, jumped well in main, upsides 3 out, effort entering straight, folded and pulled up before 2 out (dismounted but later found to be sound); worth another chance.

ARKOSE (IRE) ran below form; in touch, hit seventh, driven from 5 out, made no impression.
