travelled best and went one better than last time on his first try at 3m+; mid-division, jumped soundly in main, went second early in straight, led 2 out, drew clear before last, ridden out; will continue to give a good account, and while this race didn't provide the test of stamina that seemed likely beforehand, this success does open up further avenues, some of the regional 'Nationals' bound to come under consideration.

was upped further in trip - admittedly in a race that didn't fully test stamina - and continues in good heart; never far away, upsides sixteenth, pressed on early in straight, headed when pecked 2 out, rallied run-in.

deserves credit for his consistency but remains without a win this season and now has work to do from a mark that has risen 9 lb during the campaign; raced off the pace, untidy second, awkward fourth, ridden home turn, some headway early in straight, one paced from 2 out.

A long-distance handicap chase lacking any obvious improvers; several were trying this sort of trip for the first time, including the winner and runner-up, though stamina wasn't fully tested as Theatrical Star set a stop-start gallop.

CAP HORNER (FR) travelled best and went one better than last time on his first try at 3m+; mid-division, jumped soundly in main, went second early in straight, led 2 out, drew clear before last, ridden out; will continue to give a good account, and while this race didn't provide the test of stamina that seemed likely beforehand, this success does open up further avenues, some of the regional 'Nationals' bound to come under consideration.
