This wasn't at all a strong race for the grade for all 3 of them had already won at least once this season; several customary front runners lined up but Regulation didn't have to go half as hard as might have been anticipated to secure the lead, all 7 still there 3 out.

ATLANTIC STORM (IRE) returned to fences after more of a break (6 weeks), capitalised on a falling mark for just a second win in this sphere, though by the end he'd underlined why he hasn't had more success; held up, progress on inner home turn, produced to lead last, idled run-in, closed down final 50 yds, driven out; isn't an obvious type to follow up.

REGULATION (IRE) benefited as expected from the drop in trip after a well-earned short break, though he was seen to maximum effect, not the first time he's had the run of the race this spring/summer; made running, ridden entering straight, headed when not fluent last, rallied to close gap only as leader began to pull himself up; incidentally, he went without a tongue strap, not that it seemed to make any odds either way.

ADRRASTOS (IRE) probably ran to a similar level in defeat as when winning at Fontwell, more to beat this day but, perhaps more significantly, not asked to take usual position in front; tracked pace, effort when forced wide entering straight, not quicken approaching last, stayed on gradually run-in to narrow deficit as winner idled.

INK MASTER (IRE) faced a stiffer task in this grade of handicap from 5 lb higher but did shape better than the distance beaten suggests, not that he looked any better than fourth best regardless; handy, jumped sketchily, pressed leader 2 out, held when not fluent again last, tied up final 50 yds.

I'DLIKETHEOPTION (IRE) again failed to justify support, running worse than at Fontwell; waited with, jumped sketchily, pushed along 2 out, no response.

DANDRIDGE shaped as if amiss as he extended his long losing run; patiently ridden, some headway 4 out, awkward next, shaken up after, faltered.

MULLINAVAT (IRE) easy to back returned to fences, possibly still needed this run, almost certainly being brought along gradually by his new yard; pressed leader until 3 out, soon done with next.
