resumed progress to maintain his 100% record at this track; disputed lead, edged ahead early final circuit, hung right leaving back straight and headed, led again 2 out, responded well; presumably won't go up much given the bunched finish.

who has improved with just about every run this year, posted a useful effort to finish second in this race for the second year in a row (22 lb higher this time around); disputed lead until early final circuit, went on entering straight, headed again after 2 out, one paced.

back up in trip, ran at least as well as last time, and again gave the impression that this didn't quite get to the bottom of him, not ideally placed the way things went; dropped out, not settle fully, headway before straight, took third last, kept on, unsuited by the way the race developed.

ran creditably from his stiff-looking opening mark, although his finishing effort did leave a bit to be desired; mid-division, took strong hold, driven entering straight, no extra; a truly-run race back at around 2m may well show him in a better light.

strong in the betting, was stretched by the longer trip, the way he went through the race suggesting he is well worth another chance; mid-division, travelled as well as any, went handy end of back straight, third when switched between last 2, effort flattened out; clearly thought capable of better.

ran poorly in first-time cheekpieces, though he looks too high in the weights in any case; close up, ridden 3 out, folded tamely early in straight, heavily eased off, possibly amiss.

A quite valuable handicap hurdle that wasn't truly run, the first 2 home in those positions from flagfall, the overall feel very much of a weak race for the grade.
